Remote Access Shuttle Service
How does this work?
1) Call or email us with the following shuttle service information. Texting is for last minute pick ups or InReach communication.
If you send an email, please be sure to check your SPAM & JUNK folders for our reply which comes relatively quickly.
- Dates and locations
- Services you’d like to include in your customized trail support package
- Number of people and dogs. Capacity is up to 8 passengers, including the driver. Up to 2 dogs
2) We will provide the pricing via phone and/or email. The base shuttle service pricing includes up to 3 people and up to 2 dogs (with well-behaved humans). Each additional person up to 7 is $15.
3) You will input the pricing provided below, and make your secured payment. NOTE: You do not need a Paypal account for payment. Click on the Paypal button. It will then provide an option to use a Paypal Account or a Credit Card.
4) Prepare for and get excited about your remote adventure! We’ll see you soon!
5) If any last minute additions are made to your reservation, you may pay via the website, if possible, or at the time of service.
Conditions of Shuttle Service
- There is a $50 nonrefundable reservation fee. I hope you’ll understand that we likely had to turn away others who wanted to reserve our services on the very same day. This is why you will need to cancel the support package you have reserved PRIOR to 7 days from date of service to receive a refund of the remainder. If cancellation takes place within 7 days of service date, then we will retain the entire reservation fee. This does not apply to Points Unknown Guest Suite or Tiny Cabin stays. Those cancellation policies can be found on the Points Unknown website.
- Being that we live and work in a remote area, dealing with back roads, weather, wildlife and other support package guests, we will do our very best to always be on time but know that things out of our control may dictate. Know that communication is #1. You will receive timely communication of any delays if cell coverage allows. Otherwise, please be patient. We are on the way and may have an amazing moose recent encounter story to share!
- We reserve the right to refuse previously paid or unpaid services to anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol and anyone displaying threatening behavior or who is otherwise grossly unkind. Previously paid services will receive no refund. No smoking is allowed on the van.
- Dogs with well-behaved humans are welcome
- Please bring along exact change as cash drops are made often throughout the day and the driver will not have change for any incidental expenses
- If requesting additional services at the time of the reserved support shuttle service, your total payment will change. It can be paid at the time of service by credit card (3% fee and if cell/data coverage is available), cash or personal check
- Tipping your driver is recommended at the rate of 20% should you feel the service was sufficient to support the tip
In order to receive access to additional support menu services, you must first be a shuttle guest.
- REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS: May 1st – October 31st | 8AM – 6PM
- AFTER HOURS PICK UPS & DROP OFFS/Scheduled or Last Minute: – 6:01PM – 9PM are 1.5x the regular quoted fee. 9:01PM – 4:59AM are 2x the regular quoted fee. 5AM to 7:59AM are 1.5x the regular quoted fee. Follow directions above for your customized fee quote.
- Shuttle Services – Please follow above directions for your customized quote.
- On Call URGENT Pick up “Insurance” – $100 per reservation.Choosing this option with your reservation means that we will have someone on call for you while you are out on the trail and will head out to pick you up at a moment’s notice for up to 4 days. Then regular fee schedule for timing applies. Not selecting this option means that, although we will come and pick you up, it will need to be worked into our existing schedule at the time and there could be delays.
- Limited secure & safe parking at Points Unknown – $10/day
- Camping prior to and after your trail adventure – $30 per night (Limited number of dogs allowed on site at one time)
- Guest Suite or Tiny Cabin stays (2 night min) at Points Unknown – must be booked directly through Points Unknown at this link www.points-unknown.com/stay
- Shower available with camping – $10
- Bike transport – $5
- Canoe & Kayak transport – $15
- Supply delivery – Customized and requires a quote
- Supply drop site at our base camp – FREE
- Bike, Kayak & Canoe storage – FREE
- Solar Shower on the van – FREE
- Van equipped with tire pump & jump starter kit for those needing this service upon arrival back to their vehicles – FREE
WHERE WILL YOU TAKE ME and/or PICK ME UP?
- Any of the Superior Hiking Trail trailheads in Cook County, MN – Please be in contact with your trip details and we’ll provide a quote
- From one end of the Border Route Trail to the other – a flat $195 includes up to 3 people and up to 2 dogs with well-behaved humans.
- Grand Portage Isle Royale Ferry Launch to and from Grand Marais – a flat $150 each way. If originating from a different location, please be in touch and we’ll provide a quote.
- Any BWCA entry point in Cook County, MN – Please be in contact for a quote.
- Any lodging accommodations in Cook County, MN – Given that Cook County has only 9% private land ownership with 91% public lands, they all are starting points to your remote access adventure!
- Grand Marais Airport
- Basically, any remote access destination in Cook County, MN!
Shuttle Service Transparency
We want to be as transparent as possible with our pricing. Know that A LOT goes into setting sustainable, competitive and reasonable prices for our unique shuttle service, especially since everyone is an individual wanting an individual experience. We are not a shuttle service with regular pick up hours. Everything we do is customized. We will share what we are able to here so you can plan accordingly, however your total will be discussed when we chat with you on the phone when you make a reservation. All shuttle quotes include up to 3 people and 2 dogs with well-behaved humans.
There is a $50 nonrefundable reservation fee. If you cancel the support package you have reserved within at least 7 days prior to service, except for any tiny cabin or guest suite lodging, you will receive a refund of the remainder.
